Heartbreaking Loss for the Knights

The season came to an end for the London Knights in the most heartbreaking of ways against the Erie Otters. Losing in overtime in game 7 is the hardest way to lose a series and end your season and for some Knights their OHL careers. Tyler Parsons did everything in his power to keep the Knights in game 7 with a 63 save performance. As I stated before the playoffs started, this team would go as far as Parsons would take them and he couldn’t do more than he did. Parsons constantly faced double the shots his Erie counterpart handled and without a doubt is the Knights MVP of this season. It boiled down to luck in the end, nothing more nothing less when u head to overtime after 7 grueling games anything can and will happen. Nevermind that Erie had the more talented team and the Knights fought hard for every goal and every puck battle to get the series this far.

The London Knights have no reason to be disappointed in their season as the Western Conference was in my opinion the most talented it has been in several years. They were not the most talented team in the Conference nor were they the most skilled team. What they were was the best coached team in the West and almost…made it to the Western Conference final. With the graduating players from this season the Knights of 2017/18 will have a few large holes to fill next season. Goaltending and scoring will be an issue and one big question is will there be another Tkachuk in a London Knights uniform next season.

The Knights coaching and scouting staff no doubt have a few surprises in store for next season to keep the Knights on the winning side of the Conference. But it may be a year in which you see a downturn in points and talent for London.

Enjoy your summer everyone hockey will be back in London before you know it. AS ALWAYS SEE YOU AT THE GAME!!!!!!!!!

A little about myself , first and foremost I’m a hockey fan,  I have been involved with hockey in one form or another since I was a little kid.  I remember going to the old London Gardens watching the London Knights ,  I was a fan from that moment and have followed them ever since . This is the second year that I will be reporting on the Knights and I am looking forward to a long playoff run with this version of the Green and Gold.
