The Mountainview Homes Falcons won their quarterfinal series against Stoney Creek Thursday night with a 6-2 win from Valley Park Arena. The Falcons don't know who they will face next week in their semifinal series but stay tuned to the Falcons website for the second round schedule once it is released.

The Warriors held the Falcons scoreless in the first period, and picked up their own goal from Stoney Creek forward Riley Steeves with under a minute to play before the first intermission. Mike Kavanagh and Jake Lyons assisted on the lone goal of the period.

The Falcons opened the second period with three goals in a row to take a 3-1 lead by the 14 minute mark of the period. Chris Stevenson, Riley Sheahan (SH) and Kevin Floris (PP) scored for St. Catharines before the Warriors grabbed one back with Greg Bryl's fourth goal of the playoffs to make the score 3-2.

Daultan Leveille scored a power-play marker at 17:02 of the same period to make the Falcons lead 4-2 over the home town Warriors. The Falcons also skated into the second intermission leading with shots on net at 27-19.

The Warriors were unable to start their offence in the third period and the Falcons answered with another goal to make their lead 5-2. Stephen Ceccanese scored his first of the night to all but seal the Warriors fate Thursday night.

Daultan Leveille scored his second goal of the night with the Warriors goalie pulled in favour of an extra attacker with under two minutes to play in the third.

The Falcons now advance to the second round of the GOJHL Golden Horseshoe Division playoffs and await for the other first round series to finish before they know who they will meet.
